Fly Fishing Opening in Michigan
Well, its official, Fly Fishing has started here in Michigan, and I am taking the day off. As a matter of fact, I think it should be declared an official holiday. It is the opening for the Lower Peninsula inland, bass catch and release season in parts of Michigan too, and along with hundreds, if not thousands of other enthusiasts, I am ready!
Walleye and Muskellunge are what I am going for, and I am hoping to catch a big fish this weekend! I booked my room near Grayling, same as last year, because it is the best trout fishing going at this time of year. The cold water does it, the locals say. Last year there seemed to be hundreds out from early light on, but I still did great. I tie my own flies, and if I don't say so myself, they are damn good! At least the fish seem to like them.
The thing I am looking forward to the most is being around so many other fishermen.
We all have one thing in common, and it is we love to fish! (Not just tell tall tales)
